Inductively Coupled Plasma -
Optical Emission Spectrometry (ICP - OES)

The ICP-OES instrument is used to determine the concentrations of metallic and non-metallic elements in liquid samples. The method is based on the optical emission of excited atoms in a plasma, where each element emits light at characteristic wavelengths. It provides high sensitivity and simultaneous multi-element analysis.

Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS)

The Atomic Absorption Spectrometer (AAS) measures the concentration of metallic elements in liquid samples. The method relies on the absorption of light at element-specific wavelengths by free atoms in a gas flame. It provides accurate and sensitive trace element analysis.

Ion Chromatograph - IC

The Ion Chromatograph (IC) separates and quantifies anions and cations in aqueous solutions. The technique is based on ion-exchange chromatography coupled with conductivity detection. It is ideal for analyzing salts, acids, and bases in environmental and agricultural samples. The laboratory has established methods for the determination of various anions and polyphosphates.

Automated Photometric Analyzer
(Gallery Plus, Thermo Scientific)

The automated photometric analyzer (Gallery Plus, Thermo Scientific) performs chemical determinations based on colorimetric reactions.
It uses spectrophotometric absorbance measurements for precise and automated quantification of nutrients, ions, and organic compounds.

Elementar Analyzer

The Elemental Analyzer determines the carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, and sulfur content in organic and inorganic samples. It operates via controlled combustion of the sample followed by gas detection. Commonly used for elemental composition analysis of soils, organic matter, and biological materials.

Microwave Digestion System

The Microwave Digestion System enables rapid and safe decomposition of solid samples prior to elemental analysis. It uses microwave energy to dissolve samples in concentrated acids under controlled pressure and temperature. Typically used for sample preparation before ICP or AAS analysis.
